Meet the Talley Administrative Team
Tuesday, July 28
Sessions at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Join us for either the 9:00 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. session to meet our administrative team, ask questions, and learn more about the exciting year ahead at Talley Middle School.
While our building is still being prepared for the new school year and will not be ready for tours, we are excited for the opportunity to connect with you, share important information, and help your family prepare for a successful start to the school year.
Legacy Launch for Incoming 6th Grade Students
August 3–6 8:30am-11am
Our Legacy Launch program is designed to help incoming sixth-grade students build confidence, make new friends, become familiar with Talley Middle School, and start the school year feeling prepared and connected.
We encourage all incoming sixth-grade families to sign up and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Planning to Play a Sport This Fall?
If your student plans to participate in athletics at Talley Middle School this school year, a completed DIAA Physical Form is required before they may participate in practices or tryouts.
We encourage families to complete these forms as soon as possible so students are ready for the start of the athletic season.
2026–2027 School Supply List
To help your child start the school year prepared, please have the following supplies ready for the first day of school:

3-inch binder (6th grade students and AVID elect students will be provided a binder intially any replacement will be for the family to purchase)

Three-hole punch (one that fits inside a three-ring binder)
-
Binder pencil case (that fits inside the binder)
-
Binder dividers (with pockets are recommended for organizing loose papers)
-
Folders that fit inside a binder
-
Two combination locks (one for the hallway locker and one for the PE locker). We discourage key locks, as keys are easily misplaced.

No. 2 pencils or mechanical pencils
-
Pens
Students may receive additional supply requests from individual teachers during the first week of school based on specific course needs.
2026–2027 Attendance Matters
As you begin planning for the upcoming school year, please take a few moments to review the attached 2026–2027 Talley Middle School Calendar. We encourage families to use this calendar when scheduling vacations, appointments, and other events whenever possible. Every day of learning matters, and consistent attendance has a significant impact on student success, academic achievement, and building strong connections within our school community.
If your child will be absent, please help us ensure the absence is properly documented by completing the online attendance reporting form and sending a written note upon your child's return. To help your student stay on track, we also encourage families to have students email or message their teachers directly to request any missed assignments, class materials, or important announcements. Developing these communication habits helps students take ownership of their learning while staying connected to their classes.

We are excited to welcome our newest Tigers as they begin middle school! This special first day allows our 6th graders to become familiar with the building, routines, and staff before the rest of the student body arrives.
