This course is designed to teach students basic life and household management skills. These skills will help prepare students for the real world. After taking this class they will be familiar with topics such as kitchen safety and sanitation, basic cooking, nutrition, textiles and fabric care, careers, finances and budgeting, goal setting, and decision making.
 
All of the course activities will focus on safety and teamwork in a hands-on setting.  Students will learn to read and prepare a recipe successfully, as well as apply the principles of good nutrition when they select and prepare meals. They will also learn how to care for household fabrics and clothing. Students will explore the different career paths and the soft skills needed to be successful in the workplace and in life.
