Ms. Stefanie Stiefel, Talley Middle School IB MYP Coordinator

What is the Middle Years Program?
At Talley Middle School, The International Baccalaureate Program offers an advanced framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their academic curriculum and the real world. Students participate in a specially designed course of study focusing on eight core subjects. Each subject plays an important role in the development of a comprehensive IB education. Students in the Middle Years Program are exposed to an accelerated academic curriculum emphasizing the role of the IB student as a global citizen. Students become critical and reflective thinkers, as well as reflective and compassionate members of society.

The Middle Years Program begins with students during their 6th grade year and concludes during grade 10. The IB program prepares students to take college-level classes at any high school. Students can choose to continue with the IB Program at Mount Pleasant High School or enroll in Advanced Placement classes at Brandywine or Concord High School.

IB Curriculum
Each Year, students in the International Baccalaureate Program study, at least, eight subject groups and complete community service.  Many go on to complete the Diploma Program, at Mount Pleasant High School, during grades 11 and 12.
